ABOUT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 106593)
Registered Art Therapist (ATR #18-569)

Leah Moreno is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a registered Art Therapist with the Art Therapy Credentials Board. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and the mindful somatic techniques of Hakomi. With loving kindness, Leah carefully and creatively weaves therapeutic techniques together to meet the unique needs of each client.

When words cannot express experience, art serves as another mode of communication. Any creative expression formed by an individual is a raw and authentic look into one’s internal world. Thus, any artwork can be a unique type of self-portrait. By making, interpreting and communicating with their own art, individuals can ascend to greater insight beyond the otherwise censored and unconscious feelings and beliefs.

Art therapy can be useful to people of any age in many different life experiences. Artistic experience is not required.

Leah offers a safe space for clients to discover and explore the topography of their life experience. She empowers clients to tap deep into the wisdom within to untangle and process past traumatic experiences, to engage difficult challenges in new ways and use tools, collaboratively designed, towards healthier lives and relationships. Leah works with people who are seeking support through unresolved trauma, challenges of addictions, navigation of life transitions, self-criticism, heartbreak, and moving through grief and loss.
